I presented a paper with @admscentre.org.au colleagues on how public libraries are (re)negotiating their roles in the algorithmic society & learned a lot from the wonderful ideas shared throughout the conference.
Super important @algosoc.org panel on computational infrastructures. And alternatives.
And perfect opportunity to channel thoughts in the form of co-creating the conference art.

I am starving for more examples of grassroots democratic contestation and (re)formation of values among specific “publics” - patients, knowledge workers, news readers.
Technocratic sites of policy making and engineering are *not* where “public values” get in, to my mind.
