Some #Autumn leaves from one of my favourite local spots. Weather has been grey and wet this autumn so picking from a previous year!

The cap is brown with distinct, irregular whitish patches or scales, giving it a cracked or patterned appearance. Nearby, a few more mushrooms or fungal growths with similar textured caps are visible. There are also scattered twigs and branches among the leaves. This mushroom strongly resembles a species from the genus Amanita, possibly the “Blusher” (Amanita rubescens) or Panther Cap (Amanita pantherina), though it’s important to note that some Amanitas are highly toxic. The scaly cap is a distinctive feature of several Amanita species. However, mushroom identification should always be done with caution and by an expert, especially since many wild mushrooms are toxic or deadly.
