It was clear that he was a beginner to the instrument, yet somehow during his solo he played at an intermediate level. Memories of being on a stage, crowds screaming his name as his thin fingers made love to his bass filled Shen Qingqiu's head. The roar of the crowd and blinding lights turned to smoke and sirens instead, and Shen Qingqiu tightened his grip on his glass. He suddenly wished he had something stronger than bourbon to erase the memories forever. He flagged down the bartender holding up two fingers, narrowing his eyes when the bartender gave a raised eyebrow. Shen Qingqiu raised both his eyebrows in a look that clearly said, “Isn't it supposed to be 'Whatever the customer wants'?" For extra emphasis, Shen Qingqiu reached for his wallet again and held it up and shook it a few times. The bartender straightened their back and got to work. Once he had his new drinks, he turned back to the stage where the members were all playing again. Looking at the band anew, Shen Qingqiu noted that the others were miles ahead in terms of looks and skill in comparison to the bass player. What made bands popular was having each member with their own gimmick; each member had to be able to stand out alone, but not too much. They had to accent the other members of the group. As things stood, it was clear the bass player was a newbie, and it was likely a last minute fill-in, or someone's friend.

It’s with bated breaths they wait to see who or what’s made the noise. A small figure emerges from the brush. It’s smaller than any human the fighters have seen, leaving it to be something Other. Aikawa opens his mouth to warn his companion to be on guard when the figure starts to glow.
