Last movie I watched in my #amovieaday marathon. This was enjoyable. Be warned, it's a bit silly and clearly inspired by 70s exploitation films, and if the Germans hadn't spoken English, it would have been even better.
Cover art from the Studio Ghibli film, Princess Mononoke showing San (Princess Mononoke) riding her adoptive mother Moro (a giant white wolf).
Another one of my favorite #movies of all time: Princess Mononoke. A film from Hayao Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli, it wasn't the first anime I'd ever seen, but it was the first one that made me sit up and take notice that "Hey, these are SERIOUS films."

One of my favorite #Movies of all time is Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Seeing the original film is my earliest memory, so watching the sequel in 1980 was MIND-BLOWING. The worldbuilding, the revelations, Yoda, the suspense until the next movie! #AMovieADay #Film #Cinema #StarWars
I thought about posting about my favorite film of all time, but that's hard because sometimes it shifts with my mood. Then I thought "Well, the Top 5 is pretty static," but is it?
So, I'll just do #AMovieADay until I run out of films or forget or get bored. #Movies #Film #Cinema
#amovieaday Leave The World Behind. Great actors, pretty good cinematography, but the story never felt logical or believable. (6/10)
#amovieaday continues. I didn't know the history of this guy, but here it is, told by family and friends...
I've been kind of cheating for my #amovieaday project lately, as I've been binge watching The Handmaid's Tale Season 1 with my better half. But, it's based on a 1990 movie (which I haven't seen) which again is based on a 1985 novel (which I haven't read). Anyway, decent, but not great so far...
#amovieaday February 9: When Eight Bells Toll (1971). Not great, but a highly entertaining nostalgic action thriller. For fans of classic James Bond movies and Alistair McLean novels, this is a must.
#amovieaday February 8: The Chairman. Even Gregory Peck couldn't save this disaster. Cold-war spy thriller with lame plot... 4/10
#amovieaday Feb. 7: The Stickup (2002). Decent low budget crime thriller, but forgettable. 6/10
#amovieaday Hamlet (1990). I'm no Shakespeare expert, so I approached this movie as I would most others. The artificial Shakespeareian dialogue and the actors sneaking around the castle like it's a theater stage made the whole thing a bore. Even Morricone's soundtrack is boring. 5/10
#amovieaday February 5: The Rip (2026). Flawed action-thriller. Script tyring too hard to be clever, and there's a very artifical feel throughout the movie in both the setting and how the characters behave. 6/10.
#amovieaday February 4: Moneball (2011). I was never keen to watch this movie as I don't care much for sports or baseball, but I was pleasantly surprised. Well crafted and enjoyable feel-good movie. 7/10.
#amovieaday February 3: A Force of One. Probably the worst movie I've ever seen. I had hoped for some entertaining action, but the acting and stunts were so bad that I didn't really know if I was supposed to laugh or cry...
#amovieaday February 2: Lukas (aka The Bouncer, France/Belgium, 2018).
Decent action flick with a bit of drama attached. Van Damme does what he does best and lets his fists do most of the talking. Entertaining, but not one for the history books and I will not add this to my collection.
#amovieaday February 1: Troll (Norway, 2022). A well crafted teenage flick. Considering budget constrains the digital effects were impressive. Entertaining, but not something I'll add to my collection.
Major projects February 2025:
> Ranking RUSH and OPETH discographies
> Watch 28 movies #amovieaday
It might not seem like much, but add to that 60 hour work weeks, family chores, a backlog of CD and LP purchases from 2024-25 and the ongoing #playeverything, it's quite ambitious - but great fun!
Saw a beautiful movie - "Tourist Family" on #Hulu.
Heartwarming.
