I believe that in Ane’s canon, Exarch will be more active during ShB and travel with the Scions more, leaning on Ane’s aether when he starts getting fatigued.

Exarch going out of his way to teach Ane how to ride an amaro, which does little for Lyna’s suspiciousness of her close relationship with him.
