Just discovered that #Anglepoise lights does a fantastic repair service for their desk lights! Excellent way to avoid landfill, and to keep costs down on a replacement. Good work !

The upper joint and springs of an articulated desk lamp from IKEA.At one end part of each spring is held tight with a loop of wire, effectively making them shorter, and able to resist a larger weight. The lamp is quite dusty and grimy close up. Seems I need to either clean more often, or stop taking closeup pictures of things.

I needed some wire because of LED lighting.

LED light bulbs are great, but they're heavier than the old incandescent ones. So my cheap #IKEA #Anglepoise knock-off desk lamp kept sagging from the weight.
