What I think might be a Coronation Rose embroidery patch (3 inches by 4 inches) from England, circa the 1950s. But could it be something else? A red poppy?
#Anglophiles What do I have here? It was stuffed away with items from my father’s side of the family (English and Welsh). Having ID’d my mom’s silverware last year, it looks to my uneducated eye like a Coronation Rose (associated with Queen Elizabeth) or maybe a red poppy? My parents married in ’56.
I'm fascinated t'hear that anyone over there is obsessed with this country in this way. Usually it's the other way around; we're surrounded by #Anglophiles that fancy themselves as still being British subjects, voraciously consuming anything and everything British.
