I think I was only able to afford it because her face is semi-obscured. I like the effect - she’s nervous about what’s behind that door. It’s early in her career + it hasn’t been easy. I love these cels. It’s a shame that the days of ink and paint are pretty much gone.

This was not long after the Disney/Tokuma idea that made these easier to see in the US. Before that, it was all fansubbed VHS tapes! So the interest level then was not what it is now. I was able to get these for maybe $50-60 each. Those days are gone, alas.

Here's an original #animationcel w/ pencil sketch of Secret bear's "YEAH!" from the 1985 feature film "The #CareBears movie". Definitely a defining moment. I'm quite shocked that I managed to acquire what I thought was long gone. The only time he ever spoke out loud and never spoke again after that.
