A green anole climbing on firebush. There are a couple large leaves at the left and the red tubular flowers at center. The anole is on the firebush. The lizard is a light green on top and on its legs. It is white underneath. Its eye is black at the center, surrounded by a light blue. A nostril can be seen near the end of its head and an eardrum, or tympanum a little behind its eye and right between the green top and white bottom of the anole.

Green Anoles from a barrier island in Georgia. This is the first time I've seen a big male of this species with a prominent nuchal crest, and to the best of my knowledge there aren't any invasive species to confuse the ID. #greenanole #anoliscarolinensis #fieldherping
