Yes! Finally the dead shall rise! Bwahahaha… I should really finish those skeletons I’ve been painting.

10 Barrow Knights now in batch painting. Early steps make me think a bit too much of holiday cheer, but some weathering and bone will fix that. Also finished assembling the 5 Hexwraiths. A bit glad I don’t have 5 more, they were a pain to glue together!

I assembled 5 Barrow Knights, to reinforce my current unit in progress. Then I foolishly thought since I still have sprues for another five, I should assemble some Hexwraiths for my Nighthaunt.
Nagash himself designed this kit as a form of torture.

Finally had a few moments to paint. Got my G̶r̶a̶v̶e̶ Barrow Guard and Wight King ready for basing, along with my Deathrattle Skeletons, tomorrow. The horde rises.

After Deathrattle Skeletons, Barrow Guard, Barrow Knights, Wight Kings on and off Skeletal Steeds, and Watch Captain Halgrim it will be time for the God of Death. I’m excited and terrified to be so close to being painting Nagash.

Finally! After touching up all the spots I missed I’m on to the final “Battle Ready” step… basing! My Deathrattle Skeletons, like the rest of the army before them, are getting Vallejo Diorama FX European Mud underfoot, a good dead earthy base.

I need to pick up Army Painter Speedpaint Absolution Green (among other paints) for the next steps, so in the meanwhile I’m priming some Black Knights and doctoring up some Grave Guard and Wight Kings. There’s work ahead to incorporate new techniques.

40 Deathrattle Skeletons now have red tabards! Next I will be looking to add green to the banners and straps. I'm also noticing details I missed, but those will be left for the final pass before the Agrax Earthshade is liberally applied.

22.5/40 Deathrattle Skeletons with red tabards. It takes about 5-7 minutes per a skeleton, so I’m feeling pretty good with spending the last hour and 20 minutes. I’ll take a break, read a bit, then get back to the necromancy.

10/40 Deathrattle Skeletons now have red tabards. I was hoping to do more, but I wasn’t feeling well today (I hate being mortal…). Maybe I can finish this step off tomorrow.
