Found a desktop wallpaper that made to promote this weirdly obscure Mario PC game.

I'm assuming said game would've explain a few things like Mario's new design and Luigi's expression, but details about it are impossible to find.

Concept stuff for 2013 M, showing an altered design from his House of Horrorbrews render. His color palette is more desaturated, his red and blues darker compared to his original pinks and cyans. And his emblem is a semi-circle instead of a pixel emblem. In this concept, it also shows what he looks when playing more into the Mario character. Looking almost exactly like the original Mario, but with his hoodie still in-tact. Text reads "It's-a me, Mario!" on the Mario side (left) and "It's-a me, Mario." on the 2013 M side. (right) Mario is italicized in the 2013 M side, as to put more emphasis on the name.
