How can you be a good dog and do what youβre told when thereβs nobody around to tell you what to do? And what if it turns out that youβve been doing bad things, does the completion of orders matter more than if the orders are bad things? How can you know? #DogsofWar #aptshadow
A screenshot from the video game Spore, showing the Portia species of jumping spider in the tribal stage of the game, where they live like cavemen. The Portiid species are from Adrian Tchaikovsky's Children of Time, first book in a trilogy you might enjoy reading!
Screenshot from the Spore creature creation mode, showing off my cursed attempt at the Paul species of octopus. They have four arms and four legs, and are coral pink with horrible blue dots. Making cephalopods in Spore is surprisingly hard, each body part (arms, legs, etc) cost points and these guys are expensive to make. The Paul species has a bird's beak since octopodes have a mouth part called a beak. This one is shown interacting with a baby of its own species.
Screenshot of the Portiid species leaving the tribal stage and entering the Civilisation stage, shown by a cutscene where a leader excitedly tells her fellow Portiids about building many huts, and they all cheer for many huts!
I've rediscovered that old game Spore, and now many years later it's not as bad as I thought. It's fun if you take it for what it is, and ignore completely the idea that it was supposed to be scientifically accurate etc. I've been playing as Portiids and octopodes! #aptshadow #childrenoftime #spider
Hello, looking for other people who like the books of Adrian Tchaikovsky and would like to talk about them. Thereβs gotta be a fandom, right? Iβm more into his science fiction stuff than his fantasy stuff, but both is good. #ChildrenofTime #TheFinalArchitects #PhilosopherTyrants #aptshadow #books
I donβt understand this UI, or the etiquette on this app, but Iβd love to talk about #aptshadow βs book #shardsofearth with other people who read it. Do these books have a fandom? Do we gather anywhere in particular?
