Charles Taylor Bowling was a Dallas-based painter and lithographer whose work focused on depicting iconic images of everyday life in a purposely simplified yet realistic style known as Texas Regionalism. Royse City's First Methodist Church is a fitting subject for this style - the building combines the grandness of Western Gothic architecture with its pratical function as a community gathering place. #art #painting

Soon after Georgia O'Keeffe's romantic relationship with the photographer and art dealer Alfred Stieglitz blossomed in 1918, she began to accompany him on visits to his parents' summer home at Lake George, New York. On her first visit, she was drawn to the canna lilies that bloomed profusely there in late summer. The flowers' billowy petals and intense colors inspired her to create a series of paintings that included this one. Her early florals later inspired further explo-ration, and flowers become a mainstay of her mature works. #art

This is a patently obvious inalienable right
The one thing in which I have absolute faith:
Do something with your hands
Make something with your hands
Anything
It doesn't have to be perfect
It will save your mind
It will save your life
It will save your spirit

An olive green leaf belt bag decorated with a gear, a silk butterfly, and needle felted moss in various greens and browns.
This week I’m not posting as much art. But I started needle felting again so a couple different pieces besides one drawing. These are belt bags I bought on Etsy and decorated with “moss” this week. #arrsky #art #needlefelting
