I hadn’t painted with acrylics for quite a few months but I decided in October to go back to them and completed a few paintings. This is one of them.

#ArtAdventCalandar #CountedThread #Embroidery Day 15. This piece was for a San Francisco School of Needlework and Design stitching contest. I'm not sure I like the bland color or the mix of sharp and flowing lines, but the gems were free to anyone wishing to stitch with them. A learning experience.

She's dressed for summer in a stripped swimsuit in various colours, a rare smirk on her face as she's in her element! Her tail, hair, fins, and frills are following the movement of her pose, adding a lot of high energy and fun!

A Christmas Tree, with baubles depicting the flags of every EU nation. UK is in its rightful place at the centre of it all. At the top of the tree is the circle of EU stars.

A mainly blue painting depicting a completely blue sun shining bright over a piling of blue, geometrical crystals. Sparkling blue diamonds hang in the air as reflections of the sub's light bouncing off the crystals below. The sky behind it all is a swirling mix of blue and white, simulating an abstract showing of clouds. Crystal Sun is one of my earliest works, being simple and yet still stunning. Each object in front of the background is lined with a visible black outline, making it all pop.

48”x60” Scrappy style memory quilt 2. Made of squares set on point, created from 4 triangles each in a variety of colours plaids, stripes and solids. Each square set against a light background of a variety of shirt fabrics. Stripes of variegated teal created a grid around d the square blocks.

1 of 4 memory quilts I made for a group of siblings this summer. All made from their late father’s shirts. Nothing special as far as design, but creating 4 very different quilts was my goal and my inspiration, in spite of obvious limited fabric choices and quantity. 48”x60.
