A quick #arttip about comparison:

Hi everyone , as the title says , today is a tip i got while studying , DON'T COMPARE YOUR ARTS WITH ANOTHER ARTISTS ARTS, it will create barriers that will prevent you from reaching the true peak of YOUR artistic potential. Instead, learn to "steal like an artist"

The real reason you shouldn't trace lmao
Some poses are just not meant to be drawn exaclty as they are (at least in my style)

A collection of clothing references from Lies of P taken from a rather blurry gameplay video on the left. On the right are 3D references for lighting and anatomy on a plain male model.

References can make or break the art you're working on, so it's important to collect or make good ones. I chat about collecting reference and using 3D to make your own in my public September 2022 entry:

Two digital sketches, the one to the right has a pose which in human form means turning the butt towards the "camera" or the person viewing the art. The left one is more natural.

This is why references are so important! I did the right sketch first, tried making the pose myself and realized it wasn't feasible and very uh, butt-centric. #wip #references #artist #arttip

Have you've looked at your piece and wondered "something is wrong but I'm not sure what" ?

I recommend trying the liquify tool! If you look between the sketch and final, the eye and middle finger were moved using liquify. Sometimes making a small change makes a huge difference!

Just learned what grouping layers in Krita is and hoo boy, that'll make art with extra layers less infuriating. You can even select the layer group to move all the parts at once! #krita #arttip #digitalart

Just a reminder for creators to avoid making correlations between people with vitiligo and animals✋😑🤚

There’s a lot of historical and racial stigma regarding said “parallel”, and a ton of misinformation + uneducated claims are spread when human vitiligo is associated with animals

A sketched page talking about some facts about freckles. Freckles are small groups of melanized cells that form in response to our skin being exposed to UV rays. It can be, but isn't limited to, hereditarily passed on genetics - they just happen to be a lot more common for those who have a predisposition, and those with lighter skin. There are two subtypes of freckles, one that is more likely to fade in winter and darken in summer, and the other (typically called sun spots or liver spots) tends to persist, but is more often seen on those with a lifetime of exposure to the sun. Freckles are most likely to form in areas most prominently exposed to the sun, such as the tops of cheeks, bridge of the nose, forehead, tops of ears, tops of shoulders and back, and along the outer arms!

A smaller page explaining that freckles don't really need to be realistic at the end of the day - this is just some info and methods (visualized) that helped me better understand how to draw them! They often have layers of lighter and darker patches, with the darker spots being those area's most exposed. Lighter spots are sometimes visible, but those tend to be scars or other damaged tissue - cellulite, scars from healed wounds, and a variety of skin problems can present with lighter colored speckles.

This isn't a hard and fast rule, so take any guidance with a grain of salt - draw the way that feels right and looks fun to you!

my weed gummies kicked in literally halfway through trying to warm up, so instead I ended up making this...

A guide about freckles / some info that helped me understand how to better draw them in a believable way :]

It's OK to feel more comfortable not using the "good paper" & the "good pens", if it helps you to create. There is no shame in not using expensive art supplies.
Getting a good knowledge of your basics is what makes you become a better artist, eventually, not the supplies you use. #arttalk #arttip

#DrawingTip #Arttip #art #drawing for arms and legs from my experience. Its a flatline and a curved line. The flatline is the top of the arm, the harder part, and the curved line is the bottom part, the softer part where most of the fat goes.
