You can extrapolate that there might have been more pressure on him to represent the battle subway or even look after emmet. - Far more polite. From what I have seen ppl post about his tone in Japanese, he’s excessively polite (even towards Emmet). Contrasted with Emmet’s more blunt and childish speech, he would again presumably be a better “representative” or “face” of the battle subway. - In pokemas, it’s indicated that he seems to have a severe and intimidating expression even when he thinks he’s smiling. Another reason why people might seem to take him more seriously (out of fear?) compared to Emmet. It doesn’t indicate his actual maturity of capabilities, but it might make other ppl treat him a certain way.

Notes app screenshot: This is getting into extrapolation/headcanon territory so you can ignore it if you want lol - if you’re in the camp of “they’re both neurodivergent” a lot of people tend to agree since Emmet’s tics are more prominent that Ingo inversely might be better at masking (and perhaps that his politeness is a bit of an over-correction). I’ve seen (and personally subscribe to) headcanons of Emmet having been nonverbal as a child, implying that perhaps Ingo had gotten used to speaking on his behalf or looking after him. - This one is suuuper out there but I’ve seen people apply the white=truth, black=ideals dichotomy onto them too (there’s the whole twin dragons submas au too, idk if it’s actually popular or if my circle have just latched onto it lol). In which case Ingo being the “ideals” in this situation also kind of lends itself to the “model citizen” you mentioned. This desire to project his idealized self. Maybe that self is a protector, or a mentor (I certainly headcanon that it is).
