I know I'm not the only one who looks up rude words when learning a new #language and #signlanguage is no exception. It's as complex and expressive as spoken #language . And sometimes #asl can be pretty darn intuitive.

People tend to mock, insult & bully those who are deaf, just b/c they #communicate differently
#ASL is not to be taken as a joke
If a #deaf person is in distress & needs help, people who know sign language, it can be life saving language
Even just basic #AmericanSignLanguage can make a difference

This video is also a very good example of Non-Manual Markers. This is the ASL syntax that is not on the hands. You can see Eric indicating questions, rhetorical questions, adjectives, like a long time ago, etc, with his face & body shifts.
50% of #ASL grammar doesn't happen on the hands.
