like there are a lot of xiv npcs i love and that potentially have chemistry with aster but aymeric is so right time right place. i struggle to conceive of a hw arc that doesn't involve the ship occurring

both of them are/could be sacrificial for the other, but i think only aster has the potential to burn it all down ... aymeric is too good ... i think about the caster role quest where one of your dialogue options to him is like "i'd sooner become a beast than you"
