#Aurigny cancelled the 16.00 flight (that I was supposed to be on) because of "adverse weather conditions". Meanwhile, private pilots were able to legally rescue a small number of stranded passengers (who were told the next available seats was Friday) using much smaller planes.

They've been particularly useless for the last 2 years and getting worse. They are running a service with one 50+ year old plane and 4 pilots (2 for morning & for afternoon). One is sick, so only 1 useable crew. No spares when the plane goes tech. #Aurigny runs a Mickey Mouse service for #Alderney.
The latest #Aurigny saga... I was supposed to be flying Guernsey-Alderney this morning at 07.25. This flight was cancelled cuz they only have 1.5 crew. I was moved to the 17.30 which became 16.00 which they've now cancelled. Thank goodness for friends with small ✈️ who offered me a lift home.

Travel so far so good. If the flight goes on time, I should get into Guernsey for 8.45pm. #Aurigny cancelled my flight first thing tomorrow morning (surprise!) so I have another wasted day of hanging around before getting back to Alderney late tomorrow afternoon.
#Aurigny cancelled my flight to Shton this morning. They brought in a replacement #SkyBus Twotter last night - also went tech. They're having to use the original plane visual. So I'm on an afternoon flight to Guernsey (which the pilots can see from Alderney) and then to Gatwick. 🤷

#Aurigny has again cancelled the Southampton flight because their 1 Twotter plane still has a navigation problem & can only fly visual. The chances of me being on a flight to Shton tomorrow are remote. The chances of me missing my Dusseldorf flight on Sunday have just rocketed.

Fudged statistics from #Aurigny in today's press release re their Twin Otter flights to/from #Alderney. In the period referred to, they had 2 Dorniers flying as well (1 at a time) which were doing the heavy weather flying. Twotter GISSG is the oldest plane on the UK register. The islander

#Aurigny has cancelled its Alderney-Southampton flights today because its one 50 yr old Twin Otter plane servicing #Alderney, supplied by Isles of Scilly #Skybus, had navigational aid problems and could only fly visual.

I've just paid £209 for a 15 minute each way return flight Alderney-Guernsey on a 50 year old #Aurigny Twin Otter. The planes get older, the service is reduced (1 plane) and less reliable, but fares continue to rise.

#Aurigny has cut flights. Theres only one rotation a day Southampton-Alderney and the Twin Otters carries only 14 people. I don't blame Aurigny management. I blame its owners, the States of Guernsey, who tie management's hands.

This wasn't weather. This was several technical problems with the plane. To be fair to #Aurigny, they did their best and got us to Guernsey. They could have cancelled the flight and I'd be stuck in Birmingham until the next flight (on Monday).
My flight tomorrow Bham to Guernsey has been cancelled due to an aircraft fault. I'm rebooked from Manchester leaving at 17.05 and arriving Gsy at 20.45. My onward flight to Alderney is confirmed at 17.30. If #Aurigny was an airline, they'd be dangerous.
