Now Whitegates is no more, it becomes the target of this year's excavation. We'll be investigating the site from 2 to 23 May as intriguing finds of several periods were found in this area during the nineteenth century.

They've been particularly useless for the last 2 years and getting worse. They are running a service with one 50+ year old plane and 4 pilots (2 for morning & for afternoon). One is sick, so only 1 useable crew. No spares when the plane goes tech. #Aurigny runs a Mickey Mouse service for #Alderney.
Something only apparent when a fully surveyed modern plan of the Nunnery is complete is that the tower is offset about a metre to seaward. This suggests the tower was built first, then the Romans didn't have enough space to fit the fort walls in on the east side so

Fudged statistics from #Aurigny in today's press release re their Twin Otter flights to/from #Alderney. In the period referred to, they had 2 Dorniers flying as well (1 at a time) which were doing the heavy weather flying. Twotter GISSG is the oldest plane on the UK register. The islander
