A rectangular watercolour painting showing a snowy lake at the start of a sunset. The sky is mostly cloudy, with some light yellow showing through and takes about half of the paper. There are snowy mountains underneath, and at the base of the mountains we can see the lake with 4 dark spots. These spots are meant to resemble fishing houses, seen from afar. At the forefront we can see half of a guarding rail, the rest covered in snow. Some branches are peeking through the snow covered guardrail.

A study in watercolour, from a trip I did around two weeks ago.

Backgrounds have always been difficult for me, but by practicing I’ll surely become better!

Plus I haven’t done watercolours in forever, so it’s a win-win for me! ☺️

Travelled to Vienna back in 2019, but I finally started to put the photos to use when I wanted to get back into backgrounds. Definitely helps to look at photographers or use your own photos for studies now amidst GenAI slop.
