I opened my copy of Beethoven's Eroica Variations this morning to find these ground squirrels' footprints - lovely memories from #BanffCentre, 17 years ago!

It’s my last day at #BanffCentre. What an amazing two weeks. I felt so welcome and had a chance to do what I love with some incredibly talented people.
The view from the upper floor of the Banff Centre library. Below is an open auditorium with red chairs. Beyond are pine trees, the town of Banff, and finally the mountains in the distance. The sky is blue with wispy puffs of cloud.
Quite the view to write to 💙 #BanffCentre
A view across Emerald Lake with red canoes to the right. Mountains and pine trees frame the background, and the lake water is a beautiful turquoise.
Another view across Emerald Lake from the hiking trail. The mountain in the background shows long streaks from snowmelt or landslides, and r he lake water is a beautiful turquoise.
Another view across Emerald Lake, showing the restaurant styled like a lodge with pine trees behind. Huge tree trunks lie in the foreground, and the lake water is a beautiful turquoise.

We took a day trip out from #BanffCentre and ended up at Emerald Lake. Stunning views in every direction
A wet path leading away from the viewer, with Sulphur Mountain in the background. Yellow light from street lamps is reflecting on the ground, with hanging baskets off each lamp. The sky is cloudy after rain, and the light from the Cosmic Ray Observatory is visible up the mountain

There are so many ravens at the #BanffCentre. I have to very sternly remind myself I can't feed them and turn them into my own personal corvid army 🪶

Back at the #BanffCentre! I did some of my best writing here 20 years ago when I had an “Artist” card. Now I’ve got a “Faculty” card, and I get to work with the very talented writers in the 2025 Literary Journalism program. Nice to be in a place where your biggest worry is running into a calving elk

Kurdish Kamāncha player Shahriyār Jamshidi is on the stage of Rolston Recital Hall, at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in January 2025.
In January, I was privileged to meet and work with over fifty artists, faculties, & Banff members, including #Kronosquartet at the dreamy #BanffCentre in the heart of the mountains which has filled me with inspiration & joyfulness every moment I spent there.💚
