With 2024 coming to an end, here’s my final #beatit2024 list!
FF7 Rebirth
Elden Ring
Sonic Frontiers (my son)
Returnal
Mario RPG remake (both me and my son)
Prince of Persia lost crown
God of war ragnarok
Resident evil 4 remake
Had just enough time to squeeze one last #beatit2024!
Reorganizing the storage room and installed a gaming corner with a 13 inch CRT, so I hooked up my childhood SNES and beat Super Mario Bros on SMB all-stars.
That's 19 completed games in 2024, more than twice 2023 total😄
Happy New Year everyone!
That’s another year done and more games cleared, some new, some replays and a few from the backlog. Here’s to more games being completed next year. Happy new year everyone. #beatIt2024
2024 Backlog Down 15
2024 Summary, Backlog down 15 Added 47 Started 50 Beat 50 Completed 28 Endless 0 None 1
Well, there's no way I'm going to beat any games tomorrow, so I'm going to post this now.
I don't really understand how the new calculation works, but in the end it's telling me I reduced by backlog by 15 games. #BeatIt2024
I've been sick for the past week so I've had time to play a few games.
I #beatit2024 Hudson's puzzle series vol 4 kakuro on the Nintendo DS. Took me several months by doing a puzzle or 2 a day. I love its interface which is crucial in this kind of game.
Also my 4 year old got her second (?) #BeatIt2024 game in. The first My Little Pony game on PS5.
Squeaked in one more game for #BeatIt2024. Rogue Flight by @truantpixel.com and @perpgames.bsky.social which I had an absolute blast with! Killer production, lots of fun, and an awesome soundtrack!
#beatit2024 I can't recall the last time I beat Mario 64 with 120 stars, but it sure didn't take me 1 hour 35 minutes.
Played the PC port this time, with raytracing support. It sure looks weird, and not every texture is great, but it made for a unique experience.
So smooth at 144fps.
#beatit2024 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster pass
#beatit2024 With the release of the Star Fox 64 PC recompilation, I just had to try it! Playing it in 144hz/native widescreen is an awesome experience, and I decided to beat the hard route. Somehow I lost Slippy along the way... but I did get 2 medals.
Still the best game in the series, made better!
The beginning of the credits. The logo for Black Salt Games in white on a black background with the names of four employees starting to appear on the background: Nadia Thorne Producer, Joel Mason Programmer / Author, Alex Ritchie Art Lead, Michael Bastiens 2D Art / Animation
Another scene from the credits of Dredge. A view of the port town Greater Marrow with the lighthouse on near the bottom right corner. On the bottom of the screen are credits for David Mason (Composer / Audio Lead) and Mikatte Music (Additional Audio)
Game #25 of 2024: Dredge by Black Salt Games
The basic cycle of fishing/dredging, selling and upgrading was very compelling like I was always about to get something new. Wish the end of the game had been a little longer. Felt like I just made my choice, went to the spot and it was over
#beatit2024
Probably my last #BeatIt2024. Ape Escape PS1 emulated on PS5. Got the platinum the other day but went back and got the true ending too which surprisingly wasn't a trophy. Game holds up ok after getting used to the controls. Definitely made to show off the Dual Analog controller when it came out.
The start of the end credits for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. A River Zora and an Ocean Zora talking to a little human girl on a pier near a hanging fish. Credits for the staff are on the side of the screen. Directors: Satoshi Terada and Tomomi Sano. Player Programming Lead: Hidetomo Sato. Level Design Lead: Hiroyuki Kuwata.
The end of the credits for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Princess Zelda, the King of Hyrule and their two advisors mid conversation in the throne room. The words “Copyright Nintendo. Codeveloped by GREZZO” appear towards the center right of the screen.
The end of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. The Tri Rod from the game resting on a frame on Zelda’s royal bedroom’s stone wall. The words “The End” in white appear above it in the center of the screen.
Game #24 of 2024: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
I really enjoyed this game and how it brought some of the ideas of BotW and TotK to the top down style. Always interesting to find a weird idea for a solution that actually ends up working.

The ending scene of Golden Sun. The four main characters stand on the deck of a ship as it sails off to their next adventure.
The start of the credits for Golden Sun. The words “Golden Sun Staff Credits” in white with a village in the background. At the bottom of the screen, the words “Game Planning” in white.
The copyright notice at the end of the credits of Golden Sun. “Copyrights of Game Scenario, and Program reserved by Nintendo and Camelot. Copyrights of all characters and music reserved by Nintendo.”
The very end of the game after the credits. The words “To Be Continued” in white in the bottom right corner of a black screen.
Game #23 of 2024: Golden Sun
I played this for the first time in years with my colleague Hao on stream for @atojconnections.bsky.social ‘s Golden Sunday stream. I played Lost Age multiple times but this one only once. It was nice to revisit this game and have a lot of fun with it. #beatit2024
#PlatinumTrophy 60! I'm not done with #HonkaiStarRail just yet but at least I got the platinum! Now I can focus on the others #ZZZ and #GenshinImpact while also juggling between a few others on PS lol
#BeatIt2024
#beatit2024 Ghost of Tsushima on PS5!
Good overall story, repetitive gameplay IMHO. Unskippable dialogue and cutscenes is aggravating when doing non-story sidequests, ehich are mostly "follow tracks, find x, fight y".
It's a beautiful game tho, and sound design is amazing. Bonus: you can pet a fox
#Beatit2024 Elden Ring! Great game, really good game.
Also forgot about Space Marine II as I meant to go back and play more but I did at least finish the campaign. Enjoyed the single player and I need to try some multiplayer yet. #BeatIt2024
Time to get the #BeatIt2024 tag going over here. I started the #Castlevania anniversary collection last month for Halloween but just finally finished it off. Probably enjoyed Super Castlevania IV the most but Bloodlines and III are my runner ups.
#beatit2024 I finished Astrobot with all bots collected.
I love how colorful games can be, especially after living through the 50 shades of brown era (ps3/360), and this one is gorgeous. My nephew told me he'd finish it before me, looks like I won🤣
The win screen for Balatro. The words "You Win!" in light purple on a black background with the round stats: Best Hand: 555,822 Chips Earned Most Played Hand: Flush (22 times) Cards Played: 132 Cards Discarded: 32 Cards Purchased: 27 Times Rerolled: 21 New Discoveries: 1 Ante: 9 Round: 11 To the left of that, a joker card appears with a textbox reading "You dealt with that pretty well"
Game #22 of 2023: Balatro
I'm not entirely sure this has an ending but I managed to beat the highest stake with a deck after being glued to it for a few weeks so I'm counting it. It's so exciting to see a full combo come together as the payout climbs. Gambling addiction here I come.

The pop up that congratulates players for clearing all the puzzles in Picross e2.
Game #21 of 2023: Picross e2
As a lot of this thread shows, I love Picross so this was a great game. I had some trouble with the last few Mega Picross puzzles until one day, the solutions just kind of came to me. After that, Clip Picross was a bit of a cakewalk. #beatit2024
