Took a ride in the Santa Cruz mountains today #beautifultrees

Look up, waayyy up. Looking to the sky from the forest floor. Seeing the blue sky through the sunlight dappled leaves and branches was truly uplifting. The smell of damp earth and cedar boughs was heady. What a way to start the day.

An Epic Tree - Laurel Decher My husband and I went looking for a half-circle of oaks he knew from thirty years ago. (No comments from the peanut gallery ;) He said their group held hands around it because it was so big (nearly 8 meters around and 24 meters tall!). It’s gotta be old: 600-800 years!
