So I went and did a google image search for "sugar pops" and there laid before me in the thumbnails was the rich but sordid history of some of the cereals I remember from my 1960s childhood. Yes, there was Sugar Pops. Then there was Sugar Corn Pops. Then eventually Corn Pops. Did they transition to less sugar? Oh hell, probably not. Knowing the #USDA and #GovernmentHandouts to those #WelfareFarmers they figured a way to add even more sugar (ok, #HighFructoseCornSyrup let's not be naiive) to them, all while gradually transitioning the word "sugar" out of the big bold name on the box.

Tried #BucEes #BeaverNuggets for the 1st time (wife returned from vaca). They seem like if you home-brewed Kellogg's #SugarPops but using a smoker, then salted them.

Then I thought, "Sugar Pops"? Surely there's no actual cereal by that name anymore. (Read the alt txt. Seriously.)

Just made my first-ever stop at Buc-ee’s, and WOW—this place is a gas station on steroids! ⛽️✨
