Got back out there today. New project. Exciting possibilities. Scenery was beautiful, though mixed emotions in the burn areas. Do you know my favorite oak? #fieldwork #berkeleyadventures
A very big pumpkin. 😄 #berkeleyadventures

Little #PiTheCat is 3yrs old now! This little dude feels like he has been a part of me forever. Kinda crazy that he is only 3. Best baby boi. #berkeleyadventures (image is a handsome male siamese on his back next to human mom’s legs, hugging an axolotl toy)
Cute stinky friend on campus today. Cage stinkhorn or Clathrus sp. #berkeleyadventures 🍄🟫🍄
Sometimes you are just lucky enough to find a specimen in its prime. This was the case with this hardwood sulphur shelf. It made for an incredibly delicious creamy lemon Chicken of the Woods risotto. Only one shelf made a whole meal. #FabulousFungi #berkeleyadventures
Fabulous day. Not to mention an epic hawk and raven battle. Families of turkeys and quail. Many bebes. Voles, gophers, and ground squirrels. #BrionesRegional #berkeleyadventures
Some of the house orchids are blooming. These two specimens were rescued after they were tossed in the garbage after being staged for a house viewing. What does it say of our society that we so easily use and discard living organisms? #berkeleyadventures
And a small knock on the front door was one of our many neighborhood raccoons. I did not answer. #BackyardCritters #berkeleyadventures
Last night’s visitors include a doe and her two fawns. Saw her early on in the season and then not for a long while. Glad to see the little family is doing well. #BackyardCritters #berkeleyadventures
I made meringues and they are too much fun. Used natural items to color and that added fun flavors too! The ube and matcha were my faves. #berkeleyadventures

My students got a hilarious moment today when I was holding my zoom office hours and I suddenly jumped in my chair because there was a giant deer right outside my window. #BackyardCritters #berkeleyadventures
Had a bunch of egg whites leftover from making pasta, so I made pavlovas. Super yum! #berkeleyadventures
Friends in the Bay Area, two amazing peeps (myself included) are looking for a housemate. If you know of anyone who would love to join our happy home full of cats, chickens, veggie garden and native plants, please put them in touch! We are near Piedmont. #berkeleyadventures
Homemade pasta with eggs from the girls. Very fun to make. Very tasty to eat. Definitely hard to cut even noodles without a pasta machine 😂 #berkeleyadventures
Tried to beat the heat with a spot of early yardwork today. Woo. 😛🥵🫠 But managed to keep the critters cool enough to be ok. #PiTheCat #MarieAntoinette #Sheila #Pterry #HappyLittleDinosaurs #berkeleyadventures
For a split second I thought I had my first yard snake when this one emerged ever so snakelike from its hole. Foiled again by the mighty alligator lizard!
Love these guys. This one appears to be a survivor (stump tail) #BackyardCritters #berkeleyadventures
