The center-right Manhattan Institute did a survey of national Republicans and found that 17 percent can be classified as "anti-Jewish Republicans" -- including majorities of Hispanic Republi-cans, Black Republicans, and Republican men under 50 believing that the Holocaust "was greatly exaggerated or did not happen as historians describe." The Manhattan Institute's City Journal also conducted a focus group with younger Trump voters and -- admirably bypassing any impulse to self-censor -- quoted a 20-year old self-described "very right wing" Christian landscaper

ENDORSED BY Darlene Mealy Council Member In the years since Andrew Cuomo was Governor, our city has become less safe and less affordable, and it is my constituents who suffer the consequences. As Andrew Cuomo said, this is the direct result of the government failing to act with purpose, intelligence, and common sense. I am tired of seniors going hungry, children lacking sufficient after-school care, and parents wondering if they can still afford to live in the very neighborhoods they grew up in. These problems aren't complicated, and neither are the solutions. The only thing missing? A leader like Andrew Cuomo as our mayor-and that is why I strongly endorse his campaign.

@VickieforNYC When the deportations begin, it will relieve a tremendous amount of pressure on the low end of the housing market where it matters most. Then all we have to do is scrap our absurd and outdated rent control laws and inventory will increase dramatically, and rapidly lower costs across the board -- just as it did in Argentina, which experienced a near-miraculous turnaround after it ended it's own draconian rent control regulations. All we have to do after that is cut property taxes by 50% and get energy costs down and we'll be golden. Thankfully the new administration has made it a priority to significantly lower energy costs in America. We just have to hope our embarrassing 'resistance' government in New York doesn't deliberately spike our costs here out of spite.

How member of the House voted By Matt Stiles, CNN Updated 12:19 PM EDT, Wed March 13, 2024 The US House on Wednesday approved legislation that could ban TikTok in the United States over concerns about the video sharing platform's Chinese ownership. The bill, which passed on a bipartisan 352-65 vote, would require the app to part ways with its Chinese parent company, ByteDance, within 180 days or face a ban in American app stores. The measure is now expected to move to the US Senate, where it faces an uncertain future. President Joe Biden has said he would be prepared to sign the bill if it passes both chambers. How the Senate Voted on Foreign Aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan By Catie Edmondson, Martín González Gómez and Molly Cook Escobar April 23, 2024 The Senate on Tuesday passed the long stalled $95.3 billion package of aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, along with legislation that could lead to a ban on TikTok, clearing the measure and sending it to President Biden for his signature. Note: Three senators did not vote. The overwhelming vote reflected broad bipartisan support for the measure, which passed the House on Saturday by wide margins after a tortured journey through Congress that was met with right-wing resistance. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/04/23/us/politics/senate-vote-aid-israel-tiktok.html

@NoLabelsOrg Voters want solutions, not slogans. America's future depends on commonsense leaders like @Tom_Suozzi who make life affordable and safe again. That's what No Labels fights for every day.
Governors-elect Spanberger and Sherrill offered pragmatic solutions. While Mamdani and Trump also tapped into real frustration about economic insecurity and political alienation, their extreme populism, be it socialist or MAGA, offers the wrong answers. Both promise simple cures: Tear down the system and punish the elites. But tearing down is easy. Building something takes real work.
"While the bill is not perfect, it sends a clear message that we think that criminals should be deported," said Rep. Tom Suozzi, a New York Democrat who has called on his party to support tougher immigration enforcement. Under the legislation, federal authorities would be required to detain any migrant arrested or charged with crimes like shoplifting. The scope of the proposal was widened in the Senate to also include those accused of assaulting a police officer or crimes that injure or kill someone. The bill also gives legal standing to state attorneys general to sue the federal government for harm caused by federal immigration decisions.
Donald Trump & @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social are two sides of the “extreme populism” coin, according to #NoLabels Democrat @tomsuozzi.bsky.social. If this is true, why does Suozzi work so hard to appease the insecurity and alienation of Trump voters? #NoLabels #BipartisanSolutions #FixNotFight
