Hi, I couldn't get to the form.
Before I found my son, I thought my heartache was grief from losing him. Now, I still feel heartache: for the time I missed, and for the piece of me I kept hidden. None of my relationships have been genuine because I kept this horrible secret.

As awful as it can be for the #adoptee, it is equally painful for the #birthmom.

I'm so grateful to hear #adoptees talk about what adoption has been like for them. I'm a #birthmom I made the excruciating decision to let my boy go and be raised by another family. The adoption industry is pathetic and harmful. I didn't understand at the time what they were up to. Now I do.

“As foreign demand rose and the revolutionary notion of a child’s right to remain with their birth family was suppressed,” Nolan writes, “the principle of the best interests of the child was defined in a straightforward way: material wealth.” As with much of the Global South, permanent international adoption came to supersede older, informal modes of mutual aid. Among many Indigenous groups, personal struggles—including with childcare—are shared by the community. But coerced adoptions only accelerate the dissolution of existing support systems: a textbook example of how colonial logic disrupts perfectly functional societies. Blame for children being transferred abroad—if cast at all—almost always landed on mothers. They were often called madres desnaturalizadas, or “denatured mothers,” by journalists.

I wondered when something would break me. Or what it would be. I've not seen my daughter since 12/24/21. She doesn't speak to me now. Then I find this little paper heart her boyfriend made her & I'm shattered 💔 I miss my girl 😭 #birthmom

Ive listened to the adopted people community as best I can, I have copies of his original birth certificate tucked away in case they ever finalized and he wanted the orig one day.

I will message him and let him know I am available. I will wait.
