What I find interesting about the phrase “forced adoption” is that it is used in other Anglophone countries (including the UK Australia) to describe their societies’ historical #adoption practices, but never in the US.

Some days, I just feel like ranting about what a fucked up thing #adoption is. Sorry about that.

The funniest thing I've heard yet today is that people think #adoption agencies actually consult with extended family members or fathers first before "placing" babies with strangers. I mean come on! They're businesses that depend on a supply of infants to make money!

Why would they risk a sale?! 🥚

We were acquired by adoption companies (because they are businesses) and very often that acquisition was deceptive/coercive. Then we were sold to strangers, and states stripped of us our identities, replacing them with false documentation. That's #adoption in a nutshell. It's baby trafficking. 🥚

It's hard for me to fathom how anyone can read this and think it's ok. If we took this same scenario and applied it to a situation outside of #adoption, most people would view it as wrong. But wrap it up in adoption and people call it righteous. How is it ever ok to permanently separate families?!

Most people are simply ignorant when it comes to the facts about #adoption. Extended families are never consulted, and fathers are often excluded. And there's zero consideration for the rights of the actual adoptee. We're simply pawns in a billion dollar industry. 🥚

I agree with you, and that's exactly my point. That's not how it works at all in #adoption. Family is never considered in infant adoption, and stranger foster care is most always prioritized above kinship care.
