What a difference a week makes. Quiet on the beach this morning. The godwits/ ngā kuaka are back. But best of all, at the stream, away from any human activity, we saw an adult Royal Spoon bill/ kōtuku ngutupapa, with its young. What a delight!! Also dotterill #alliswell #bodyclockreset #kikorangi

Made it to my early morning walk, despite the late night rock n roll (a 5.4 earthquake, for anyone not in Aotearoa) No surfers today but the kuaka/godwits are still here, feeding in the shallows. Day 8, #bodyclockreset #kikorangi

Ata mārie! Day seven of my early morning walk, which feels like an achievement. It’s getting easier but that doesn’t make it easy to get out there. Not yet. This morning it was brisk and there were surfers and kuaka/godwits, which seemed special.
