I think criticism should always be aimed at helping the author improve or at least identifying issues in their work for them to avoid in the future. Why would anyone want to be able to criticize someone behind their back without their ability to learn from that feedback and improve from it?

This is something I will never understand about our book community...

If authors (who aren't being rude) can't look at critcism, how are they supposed to improve?
