Hier nimmt ein Eichelhäher ein Bad im Brunnen.

Dark eyed junko on a snow covered deck. The junko is a small bird, its hwad and neck are black, belly a creamy white, grey-black back and orange sides.

I'm not much of a photographer or a birder, bit for a change I have a #BordOfTheDay with this rather interesting dark eyed junko

A Cobbs Wren standing on some driftwood which is resting on a beach stone. This all brown bird with a stripy brown tail is a sub species endemic to the Falkland Islands and was first described by Arthur Cobb in 1908. It nests amongst the boulders on beaches and as such is susceptible to predation by rats, cats etc but on those islands where the predators have been eliminated they are easy to see on stony beaches, picking off invertebrates on the tideline and hopping into holes between the boulder at your feet when you can then hear the demands of young vying to be fed. Diving for food is today’s theme, so I’ve got a graceful mallard diving, butt up, a juvie tufted duck going all in, and a seriously happy little little grebe who managed to snag a stickleback all by himself

Today’s #bordoftheday theme is #browisbeautiful. It certainly is. I couldn’t get these lesser kestrels all looking the right way, but the encounter in Morocco was still awesome. ❤️

Auf einer frei hängenden hölzernen Futtersäule, über die ein Häuschendach, und darauf noch einmal ein kleineres Satteldach gesetzt ist, sitzen zwei Stieglitze. Einer sitzt auf der Sitzfläche vor dem rechteckige. Futterspender, die andere auf dem unteren Satteldach. Im Hintergrund Grün mit hellen Lichtpunkten.

Eine Blaumeise sitzt auf dem metallenen Sitzbügel vor einer Futtersäule, von der Seite gesehen, nach vorn gebeugt. Der Schnabel ist geöffnet, ein Teil der Zunge ragt heraus, und im geöffneten Schnabel hängt die Spelze eines Sonnenblumenkernes.

Ein Grünfink auf dem metallenen Bügel einer Futtersäule, zeigt sein Rückengefieder, und hat sich, mit weit geöffnetem Schnabel, und zur rechten Bildseite gedrehtem Kopf, weit nach vorn gebeugt. An der rechten Bildseite erscheint die Flügelsüitze eines sich nähernden Vogels.

Eine junge Blaumeise auf dem metallenen Sitzbügel einer Futtersäule, von der Seite gesehen, schaut geradeaus, in Richtung rechter Bildseite.
