A White porcelain Guanyin floats in a sea of 22 Japanese porcelain plates that have been fragmented and glued back together with laquer and gold. She is the Boddhisatva, the divine feminine that restores what has been broken to something stronger and more beautiful.
Dutch artist #BoukedeVries (b.1960) created this interesting porcelain figure of Guanyin (female Bodhisattva) in a Cloud of Plates. It's in the# LegionofHonorMuseum, San Francisco. All the plates use #kintsugi (rejoining fragments with lacquer mixed with gold, Guanyin is in debua,or blanc de chine.
