Pittsburgh agitation scale (PAS) total score over time, adjusted fit with 5 sites. As measured by the PAS, dronabinol was more effective than placebo at reducing agitation, with an effect size of 0.53.
1- Behavioral & psychological symptoms of #dementia #BPSD are common, distressing & sometimes dangerous. Pharm treatment (eg, antipsychotics) can have serious side effects.
This RCT suggests that #dronabinol may help ⬇️agitation in #Alzheimers ds (AD).

Some local good news: the Dane County (WI) board approved funding to study the feasibility of opening a #Dementia Stabilization & Care Transition Unit.
