Photo of a craft project on a quilted grey background. The project is a wire wreath form that has embroidery floss wrapped around it in the style of a “god’s eye.” The 15 shades of blue floss form concentric rings of color, like rings on a tree.

Last night’s #brainweaselbuster was a destash of 15 skeins of embroidery cotton and one dollar store wreath form. Biggest “god’s eye” I’ve ever made, and I am super pleased with the result.

A quilt top pieced from 20+ different brightly colored solid and print fabrics, with some boring grey fabric added to tie things together. There is no design or order - things just got sewn down where they fit.

New addition to the charity quilts: just finished a quilt top using many, many spare blocks and pieces.

That’s #brainweaselbuster . Apologies to any Brian Weasels out there; I’m sure you don’t need to be busted.

Photo of a quilt top made of a checkerboard of alternating squares of black-background print fabric with an array of solids in all the rainbow colors. The colors fall in a line diagonally and are arranged in ROY G BIV order top to bottom in the first row, and shunted down one square farther in each subsequent row.

#brainweaselbuster today did not take as long as I expected, but is sloppier than I would like. My seam allowance was off when I sewed the initial strips together, so lining up the blocks for each row of the quilt was …. imprecise. It’s fine for a Paul Revere inspection**

#brainweaselbuster of the day: a rainbow-riffic quilt top pieced from strips. Destined for a local lgbtqia+ community center for families and kids.

#brainweaselbuster of the day: figuring out placement for my hexies and starting to assemble them. It will be interesting to see if I can get the papers out when the construction is done - cardstock may have been a bad choice.

#brainweaselbuster of the day: dyeing the final couch slipcover to match the rest of the rainbow-licious cushions. My washer is gonna be purple for MONTHS.

Today’s #brainweaselbuster is my Tradescantia, which loves my bathroom light so much it bloomed.

Yesterday’s #brainweaselbuster was a long walk at a local park, where the only things blooming or fruiting were fungi.

#brainweaselbuster of the day: wrecking my hands crocheting sturdy cotton nests for our local wild animal rescue organization. Making use of clearance yarn from before the Joannpocalypse.

After a brief hiatus to go buy more backing fabric, #brainweaselbuster is back with a new scrappy quilt top. I’m really pleased with how this one turned out, given that it was a pile of off cuts of weird sizes round about dinner time today.

#brainweaselbuster of the day was finishing up the orange and grey 5” squares I had sitting around on this charity quilt top. This is what happens when you mis-plan and have to add rows and columns to make it big enough to donate!

#brainweaselbuster of the day - cut and pieced this foxy quilt top for charity. I have enough squares left to make at least one more in a similar color scheme, so that’s tomorrow sorted.

A photo of two ferrets in a large cage. One is cream-colored and the other is more mink-colored. They are both nosing at the bars and are very interested in attempting to eat my (not shown) fingers.

Today’s #brainweaselbuster was a trip to the pet store where I got to see these handsome furry slinkys. No, I do not need ferrets. But these were surprisingly active and curious, and it made me smile.

Today’s #brainweaselbuster is a rail fence quilt top that I would have finished before bed if not for the small incident that required a seam ripper. As it stands, I have five seams left to sew tomorrow.

My #brainweaselbuster for today was a drive to Columbus to see @thebloggess.bsky.social speak and get her autograph for the quilt I have been working on for (checks notes) almost 20 years. It was a wonderful way to spend the day!

Gonna be away from my craft room tomorrow, so I pushed hard to get two quilts quilted and bound today. Two #brainweaselbuster photos for today: the happiness of proud binding strips, and an accidental star in my random lines quilting.

Today’s #brainweaselbuster : when I went to Lake Erie Nature and Science Center to drop off the rehab nests I had made, I found what I want to be reincarnated as: an indoor turtle who can sleep in its food dish under a heat lamp. That is living the dream!

Today’s #brainweaselbuster : finished a second charity quilt and finished the quilting on a third for this week. #quiltsforkids is going to be getting a BIG box from me when I’m done using up scraps.
