A pint of beer on a pub table. It is half full. Or empty, depending on your point of view. Point is, it'll soon be time to order another. The beer is a rich copper brown colour. There are rings of foam clinging to the inside of the glass where sips have been taken. Behind the beer are the lights of the bar, with the beer taps just about visible but out of focus. There is a woman seated at the bar who is also more of a fuzzy blur. You can see the light from the bar and the copper of the beer reflected in the table, which is made of dark wood that has been varnished. The pint rests on a cardboard beer mat. Proper pub vibes. Lovely.
A pint of Five Points Green Hop Goldings at the Pembury Tavern. Lovely robust but balanced bitterness, grass and nettle flavours, then earthy honeyed spice on the finish.
It's super fresh and won't be with us for long.
