The second painting, of the same lift bridge, was made completely from imagination (!); it was designed specifically for Stony Point Art Studio’s bicentennial art show. Brockport Artists' Guild's January 2025 Artist of The Month is fellow member, Melanie Ippolito. Melanie has been painting in retirement ever since she attended an art class in 2015 at the Parma Public Library. She enjoys working with acrylics as it is a fast-drying paint, and it is favorable to layering - a technique she uses often in her paintings. Lately, Melanie has been experimenting with oils. She has also taken classes at Stony Point Art Studio.

Brockport Artists' Guild's "Artist of The Month" for December 2024 is Len Ippolito. Len Ippolito worked for 39 years as a science and math teacher, a software documentation writer, and a process control technical instructor. When he retired, he said "nevermore" to technology. Len is a dedicated tinkerer. He has painted with oils, drawn with graphite and pastel, carved wood with knives and gouges, turned wood on a lathe, and made wooden projects. Items from his workshop can be considered art, or maybe quasi-art.
