Brown drake emergence on a northern pond. It’s always exciting when you start to see the shucks on the water and know the big fish will follow soon. This sequence is looking back at June, not the steamy 70o waters out there today!

Caught the brown drake hatch in western Maine. Magnificent brook trout and land-locked salmon eagar to hit on brown drake emergers-the more bedraggled, the better!
It will be in the high 80’s this week, which will send these fish to deeper, cooler waters.
