Today's #photooftheday is the #Neolithic chambered tomb #BrynCelliDdu #Anglesey iPhone snap with a silvertone filter. Oddly this was such a hard place to photograph — the reality is so much more dramatic than the camera could capture.
Inside the chamber of #BrynCelliDdu is stone of blue schist with mica mineral flakes that reflect light & make it shimmer like the stars. It is thought this was a deliberate choice possible representing the celestial. Here a grey basalt with quartz veins & mica flakes mostly likely sourced in Wales
