“Anyway, Director,” the boy continues, ignoring Fukuzawa’s scolding with ease, “who are all these people?” Fukuzawa sighs loudly, but he walks over to join Ranpo anyway. “You've surely figured out the situation by now.” Ranpo nods, “I was hit with some sort of age-altering ability, which not only affected my body but also my mind— ‘cause I dunno any of these people, save Akiko.” “What is the date as far as you can recollect?” Ranpo answers with a specific date, right down to the time, unflinchingly and cool as ever; he does it all while gazing up at Fukuzawa with those bright green eyes that, deep down, scared the swordsman at one point. Fukuzawa nods in acknowledgement, “That's ten and a half years in the past.”
