It helped having some semblance of familiarity (and similarity of being humanoid) to cling onto after having such things all torn away violently from them. Not to say they didn’t open up to their adopted wasp moms- but Liam was very silent and hardly talked much before Gemma requested Marcy to pay them a visit.

Liam hanged out with Marcy a lot during the time they were just taken in by Gemma and Vera! She really helped break them out of their shell after The Beast attack. (More in the ALT)

He has fairly frequent visits relating to “wow you’re nearly dead again, lemme see what you’re dealing with” situations in Liam’s world, and always ends the visit it with a “good luck kid”. Liam’s very lucky they have Primordial energy on their side or else they’d be very much dead many times over. The Boss wanted Death to reap their soul out of his usual job standards, so Death for the most part was “I dunno man that feels messed up- but damn your The Boss so okay I guess” . Luckily for Liam, their Primordial powers prevents their soul from being taken like that. Despite Liam forgetting many of the faces, names, and voices of the humans they used to live with in the bunker- that specific moment they remember vividly, of Death finding them helping Sir Ducky. Sometimes, after beast attacks, Death pops back into their world to see how they’re doing. Not to often- but enough to where they can have little chats. Life is curious about them too, so him keeping up with Liam was just to give gossip to her. But eventually it turns into like “Congrats I’m adopting you basically” and tends to give them advice.

He was going to reap their soul- but since they were alive, and he has no reason to, Death just left them to do their thing, sorta.

I need to give some more attention to Finn and Jake in this AU, they're Liam's lil bros afterall!

Gemma’s just very concerned (but supports their decision on moving up in job importance) because that’s her little human grub putting themself out there amongst the Beasts again- Vera gives Liam the final push to follow through with their choice too. Liam still talks to their plush, Sir Ducky, even as a Cosmic Being. Their isopod buddy is still very much a source of comfort no matter what the situation.

Five years prior to starting work as a Courier, Liam was a Scout! Essentially they were in charge of looking for safe routes free from Beasts and potential new living spaces for hives (During this time Jake was just a little beetle grub too!) (More in the ALT)

Buluzi - [Has lots of tuffs of fuzz between their carapace.] [Like Tera, their horns aren't connected to their mask. They also don't wear it often.] [Their horns somewhat influenced the shape of their mask.] Once they've gained this form of theirs, they pretty much live in Liam's original world. Buluzi travels with Bug World's Finn and gives him moral support after Jake's passing. They send Liam messages on how their adventures are doing frequently, as well as the well being of their relatives too. Buluzi really loves traveling, and if given the chance, they'd travel across the entire multiverse.

Tera - [Tera can't form an actual carapace. This "suit" is a literal shoulder padded suit.] [Horns aren't apart of the mask. While they're not good at creating an exoskeleton, they did their best to at least figure out how to transform the mask shield.] [Their mask is very smooth.] At this point in their life, Tera actually manages to become a God Auditor just like Scarab. They actually apprenticed with him, and on the rare occasion, with Liam. Unlike Scarab, they're more lax with their auditing, opting to attempt to reason with those listed for auditing and just send them as is to Liam. Unless they annoy them or obviously are not a safe being to deal with. Scarab gets worried about their methods sometimes.

Some more silly doodles!

Buluzi Buluzi, as mentioned before, loves hanging out with (Bug World) Finn and Jake and ever since they were a grubling, always wanted to adventure with them (Eventually that becomes reality!). Very easy to be around and has a very laidback personality. Kirzaka also wanted to explore with them and their uncles, but being one of the smallest “runts” of the clutch they decide to go on a different path. Liam made them both the tiny packs, and made little treasure hunts for them in their dimension. Kirzaka While Kirzaka changes their mind and doesn’t go off adventuring, they instead get invested in recording their various sibling’s stories from their antics throughout the multiverse! Another book worm of the group of Liam’s hatchlings, and also often hangs out with Vandu and Cole in the Library that Liam makes for them. Also joins Cole in becoming a Cosmic Archivist. Once they get interested in a topic they can go on and on about it for hours. Poe One of the most artistic of the group of Liam’s batch, Poe really loves painting and trying out any form of making art. Keeps to himself a lot of the time, but also occasionally hangs out with any of his other siblings when they’re doing arts and crafts too. Guster and him have a friendly rivalry of seeing who can paint the most- leading to the two of them having lots of their works decorating the Tree Stump house. Kabu Reaaaaaally loves comedy and comics. Wants to one day either write jokes or be a standup comedian. Specifically hates jokes and pranks that are mean spirited and down right insulting to people. Makes Liam worry with it, but he’s really good at slapstick comedy. Lipan and Merid sometimes helps him come up with jokes. Every now and then has little shows in the Tree Stump house to amuse his siblings and likes cheering them up with it if any of them are feeling down.

Firben Another one of Liam’s hatchlings that started to be more art inclined. Specifically likes making pottery! Most of the dishes Liam and Scarab have in their home are made by Firben. She wants to be a professional Ceramicist one day. Gets along well with Kheirosiphon (much to Scarab’s annoyance) and calls him uncle Sai. Helps that they really like tea too. Lipan Has a big fascination with rocks and the like! They want to be a geologist and study all the different kinds of rocks in the multiverse if possible. Cole and Kirzaka help them out a lot with collecting geologic information. Has a big rock collection that they proudly display in Scarab’s garden and also has a normal ol’ rock as a pet rock. They glued googly eyes on it and everything and named it Tumble. Made a pet rock for each and every one of their siblings and their parents. Scarab keeps his in his suit and Liam has theirs on display in the Tree Stump house’s kitchen.

Kever Kever really likes making plush toys, and they help Scarab and Liam mend their sibling’s toys. Especially Sisalik and Gremxula, those two tend to rip apart their toys constantly and run to Kever to fix them when their parents aren’t around. They really enjoy making things, and often can be found in the tree stump house surrounded by fabric, cotton, and patterns. They’re pretty quite compared to all of their siblings. Rove Rove is the second smallest of all the hatchlings, the first being Brouk still. She likes helping Kever mend things and often looks for things that need fixing. While not as good as their sibling with mending things, they’re good at planning things out. She likes watching Scarab decide what Cosmic Being to audit when he’s home with her. Very talkative and enjoys chatting with all of her siblings. Tera Tera really wants to be a God Auditor like Scarab. They get along very well with their younger brother, Darkling, and often are seen running about Liam’s dimension both taking turns being a God Auditor and hunted. Liam helped make their little staffs and even when the two get older they still have them in their possession. Very outgoing and takes after Scarab the most in persistence, but Liam with an easy going attitude. Darkling As mentioned, like Tera, he wants to also be a God Auditor to help his dad. Much to everyone’s surprise (and Scarab’s dismay) he actually is fond of Prismo and calls him uncle Mo. Prismo lets him watch the flip through the TV and if Scarab is on a job, lets Darkling watch him work. He’s the most determined about becoming a God Auditor and has a decent hoard of journals. All of them full of notes about how Scarab does his job.

Brouk The smallest of all the hatchlings once they’re out of their grub forms, much to his annoyance. His siblings teases him about it, but for the most part he doesn’t get bothered by that and finds it amusing honestly. Hopes for a growth spurt once he gets to his next molts. Likes sports and likes trying any that Liam and Scarab tell him about. Especially the ones from Liam’s home world and can be often found playing with them. Also loves hanging out with bug world Finn and Jake whenever they visit. Brouk wants to try every single kind of sport in the multiverses. And despite being the smallest, he’s the rowdiest. Merid Merid is really proud of their fangs and will boast to anyone (that isn’t their siblings) about them. They hang out with Brouk the most and like playing with him despite sport activities getting them really tired. They also like helping Carri bake things too. Because they help Carri out a lot they get first bids on the food they make. Merid always snags two though, because they like sharing and eating with Liam. Along with Carri, Sisalik, Gremxula, Brumbulli, Kever, Firben, Lisko, Maxi, Ebe, and Androngo- Merid made them apart of the “Cool Fangs Club”. Cole Takes the most after Liam! Really loves cataloguing things and making records. She hopes to one day be an Cosmic Archivist and studies everyday to potentially get a chance at becoming one. Scarab helps her study too, and Liam gives her tasks on things to catalogue, sort, and make notes of. Ranging from animals, devices, and abilities Cosmic Beings Scarab has captured have. Along with Darkling, the two are the reason for why Liam made a library/study room in their tree stump house. As with Goliath, her siblings often come to her for help with looking for things and advice. On the rare occasion when Simon pops in (accompanying Fionna and Cake) she likes listening to him tell her about artifacts and just stories in general.

Dace Like their name, they got a big interest in fishing. Though they can’t really do that in Liam’s dimension. So whenever Liam goes out of their dimension they’re often seen tagging along with a net and fishing rod. They take pictures of their catches with a crystal Scarab gave them, and gives them to Cole to record down. They may look snooty, but they’re actually very polite, sweet and easily excitable. Zuk She’s the shyest of all of the hatchlings and has hiding spots all around Liam’s dimension. When she’s out and about, she’s usually hiding behind her parents (and hitching a ride in the fluff of Liam’s tail). Zuk, surprising everyone, gets along the most with Cosmic Owl and likes drawing with him. Can get to talking up a storm once she’s comfortable enough, and loves talking to Liam and Scarab. Her drawings are hung up in many places of the tree stump house, and made drawings of her siblings for them.

Vandu Loves helping with anything really, and has a real sweet tooth for Scarab’s homeworld foods. Helps out Goliath take care of their other siblings with things a lot. Doesn’t like the feeling of certain textures like fabrics on their underbelly. Wants to be a librarian and often asks Scarab if he’s ever been to libraries in the multiverse and what they were like. Very chatty and loves sharing things they’ve learned with their siblings and parents. Also helps Lucy find new recipes to try out frequently. Driezas She loves flowers, and enjoys planting them and especially eating the edible ones. Along with Lagarto, has a little corner to herself in the “greenhouse” room where she tends to a patch of flowers. Fascinated by Liam’s stories about their homeworld’s giant plants and wants to visit there one day. Loves sleeping in Liam’s hair and hugging onto their horns. Is good pals with Eidecshe and the two siblings garden together a lot. Doesn’t like to sleep, and either Scarab or Liam have to essentially cradle her in their arms to get her to knock out. Another surefire way to have her fall asleep is in a bug pile with a big group of her other siblings. Driezas She loves flowers, and enjoys planting them and especially eating the edible ones. And finally Eidecshe! Doesn’t really care for plants, but enjoys spending time with their siblings and dad so they help out anyways. Second biggest of the hatchlings, right after Goliath. Often naps in the garden right after helping out. Will 100% climb on Scarab’s back while he’s working on his plant collection and knock out. Scarab’s gotten used to it. Also will climb onto Liam’s tail to take a nap, it’s their favorite place to nap actually- really comforts them. More often than not seen sleeping in the oddest of places.

A bit more for the continuation of the hatchling's info in the ALT!

First off, Kroko! The friendliest and most out going of Scarab’s batch, and often seen darting around Liam’s legs when they’re walking around their dimension. The most curious about things too, often asks Scarab about the multiverse and about their grandparents. Despite being the friendliest, wants to be like Scarab and help him with God Auditing. Timsah (aka Tim) Unlike Kroko, Timsah is very, very shy. And feels comfortable the most in either with a group of their fellow clutch, or in the presence of their Scarab and Liam. They’re best buds with Guster and be seen tagging along with her often. Likes to sort things to calm themself down or clinging onto Liam’s tail. Guster (aka Gus) Very artistic of Scarab’s batch of hatchlings, and also outgoing and a bit of a troublemaker! She really loves painting, and just making a mess with it too. Usually seen with Tim, but also just roams about by herself. Has painted many things on one side of the Tree Stump house. Almost always asks Scarab to tell her stories about his Auditing missions. Ogle Enjoys watching Liam judge the cosmic entities and other beings. Wants to one day be a cosmic entity that essentially keeps records of other being’s past deeds. Also really loves detective stories and has dressed up as a sleuth on numerous occasions. Despite sticking around Liam a lot, Scarab is their favorite parent. Bille (Named after Bille the Hero from Liam’s Homeworld) A sweetheart and doesn’t really care for fighting. Really wants to be a crystal architect like his grandparents. Gets along really well with Merid and Maxi, both of which also want to become crystal architects too. Has a collection of crystals in his room that Scarab has picked up for them in other worlds. Loves spending time with Liam the most and is often seen falling asleep on top of their head.

Carri (Named after a (Mail) Carrier) Thinks Fionna is just the coolest much to Scarab’s dismay. It’s because when they first saw her they got really excited that they have the same teeth. When visiting OOO with Scarab one day, they became best friends with Astrid. Often asks their parents to bring sweets back from Fionna’s world and is a big fan of Gary’s treats. One of the main reasons for Liam’s frequent visits to their world in particular and also OOO. Goliath Lil guy is often put in charge of keeping an eye on all the other 52 kids when Liam and Scarab are away and no one else can watch over them. Quite, but not timid, or a stick in the mud. Most of the other hatchlings do find comfort in his presence just like their parents. He’s also the biggest of all the 53! Also molted out of his grub stage first too. Has the deepest voice out of all of them. Likes making sure everyone is safe and helping people. Gets along pretty well with any visiting Finn, especially Uncle Finn (Bug world!). One day, wants to go adventuring just like Liam used to in their homeworld. Sargantana (aka Ana) (Yet another word for Lizard) Really looks up to Scarab and tends to mimic his no nonsense attitude. They’re also pretty hotheaded- and that worries Scarab sometimes. Often copies whatever he’s doing when he’s back home like a little shadow. It used to confuse him when they first started doing it. Loves taking naps on Scarab and Liam and often relaxed around their shoulders like a boa. Also wants to be a God Auditor like him and studies for it in secret (Both Liam and Scarab know about their “secret” studying though- they aren’t very discreet).

Lagarto (aka Gar) Really, reaaaaaaally loves gardening and working with plants. Often with Scarab when he’s in the garden and insists on helping him tend to the plants. Wants to research the entire multiverse’s worth of plants, so essentially wants to be a botanists. Also enjoys cooking with Liam (who essentially has it as a hobby now so they won’t be bored when Scarab’s away- and also so they won’t forget Gemma’s recipes she made for them and Finn. Leads to a lot of food being made) and really loves making dishes focused with fruits and vegetables. Scarab and Uncle Finn bring him plants and he has his own little collection of plants in a corner of the “greenhouse” room. Sisalik (aka Sal) Likes to bite! A lot. But is another softy who just really likes to gnaw on things. (Scarab jokes that they inherited the urge to gnaw on things from Liam). When they don’t have anything to gnaw on- they often resort to biting Liam’s tail. Along with Gremxula, gets very sad when they inevitably tear their favorite toys and pillows and Liam often sews them back together again. Speaking of, the duo are never far from each other. Liam is their favorite parent, and they’d never bite Sir Ducky. Has told Liam and Scarab that “if their ever was a job for biting we’d (Gremxula included) be the best for it!” which made them both have a good laugh about it.

Gremxula (aka Xula) Best buds with Sisalik, they even hatched at the same time! Also loves to bite- but unlike their sibling they love to gnaw on Scarab’s ankles lol. Doesn’t do him any damage, but ends up with him dragging his leg or walking awkwardly with them latched along for the ride. He gets slightly annoyed with it but it makes Liam laugh every time it happens so he lets it slide. Scarab suspects Xula does it to make them laugh specifically. They have their own favorite plush toy, and they named it “Sir Petals”. Sir Petals has been through a lot. Like Sisalik, Liam’s their favorite parent, and Vera is their favorite grandparent. They want to be as tall as Deargadaol one day. Lucy Loves to bake and cook with Liam too! But Scarab’s his favorite parent, and more often than not, the treats he makes often look like him. Has told Liam and Scarab that he wants to be a baker one day. Occasionally gets teased (not mean-spiritedly though) by his siblings for looking a bit like a rat but doesn’t care. But eventually grows to like it, especially when Scarab tells him about how Fionna had a prophetic dream and he was essentially at rat bus. Scarab somewhat regrets telling him about it, because more often than not Lucy makes new treats with his face slapped onto a rat shape. He (Lucy) always gives Liam the first batch of his food, and Liam was the one who encouraged him to make Scarab rats lol. Wants to work with Gary and learn from him (yet again much to Scarab’s dismay but he lets his kids do what they want for the most part).

Finn recruited her to help them courier packages and was initially surprised to see Lady Raini and Jake hit it off so well. While Jake started courting her first, once she realized he was interested, she started courting him back with gusto. While in Bug World, marriages amongst insect folk are more of formality, and both of them just wanted to try it out. At this point, Finn and Jake both have means to contact Liam or Scarab- and boy did Finn immediately contact Liam when Jake told him his plans. Liam and Finn are very supportive of him and Raini. Finn teases Jake about it the entire process heh

(Helps that in this AU he doesn’t go feral when Fionna says no hard feelings for a few reasons.) One reason is because he’s reminded of Liam’s Finn and Jake by them.

Liam really enjoys being amongst the humans in Fionna’s world during their breaks from judging. And they get along Fionna and her pals + hang out with them often.
