Octagon redwood box that I built to finish as an owl hut (nest) for the owl we spotted in our back yard. It was extra work to make it this shape, but made it look better.

Placed on a rolling cart, but this is what the owl hut looked like when finished.

The beginning of what would be my "big man" cajon. A good sturdy, reinforced box with threaded inserts for the from and back skins. Painted black on the inside for effect.

My jalapeño pepper lever handle for the snare wires... to engage or disengage them. I think the green pepper goes good with the orange box.

The beat side has a plywood face that I edged with oak to support the mounting edge and to give a clean look to the plywood edge.

Experimented with skins between Lexan and plywood, and the best sound I got was to have Lexan on the back and plywood up front. I also mounted a mic on the inside... just for in case.
