#bumpygame I can’t believe I thought coding the bumping was going to be the easiest part of this game. If only I could redo it from the ground up… but alas the game is too close to finished to do that now

- various polish/bugfixing

- final boss + end sequence done
- nearly all music written. not implemented yet, still need to do some mixing + touch-ups for looping. looking to be a ~15 track OST
- should be starting on sfx this month

my foolish hope is to have the game basically done this month

- all levels done, may make tiny tweaks to some for readability
- 6/7 bosses done, 7th almost done
- definitely starting audio this month

so so so so close... don't wanna jinx myself, but a summer release is looking likely

moving along nicely, excited how it's shaping up!

-spreadsheet cleanup, big % is more accurate

-finished polish for 2 more levels, ~50% done with final level. just a couple more bosses to polish after that

-implemented most of arcade mode

-likely starting audio soon

- 1st playtests! very well-received, BIG improvements

big % is smaller bc i fixed a spreadsheet error. main things to look at are all the other %s.

- finished final boss
- finished story
- finished intro sequence
- title, game over, credits, settings, help screens
- mostly finished easy mode
- started final art polish

- finished final boss pt1, designed pt2
- figured out story FOR REAL THIS TIME, started writing actual text, feeling better than ever about it
- cleaned up task list now that i have a clearer vision of the ending

- small tweaks to a core mechanic to raise skill ceiling a bit.
- pretty much finished final full level, incl boss. special stuff going on in this one, took extra coding & design consideration, but i think it's turned out to be a good & scary final dungeon.

#bumpygame Dec 1, 2024 update. Last month I finished a whole level + boss + started really really getting my story figured out. A ton of work and progress, but the sheet doesn't super reflect it since so many of the %s are weighed down by the sheer quantity of audio tasks I've yet to start on.

With this current (penultimate) level, I made all the enemies and obstacles first. I’m about halfway through mapping out the level now, and I’ve had to tweak many many things I thought I was finished with 😌 I’m about halfway done mapping though! Then it’ll be boss time.

Enemy design, obstacle/hazard design, and level design are weird in that there is no correct answer for what to start with… No matter what, once I start on one of ‘em I’ll need to tweak the others.
