A scene from the opening of book one of Wings of Fire. It is on a mountaintop on a stormy night, rain pelts the ground and purple lightning crackles in the background. In the middle, a very injured IceWing is chained to the ground. His left wing is shredded, dripping blue blood to the ground. There is a smoking heated metal chain searing his muzzle as he clutches a small red egg close to his chest. His eyes look up in fear as blue smoke leaks from his nostrils. It's her, Burn. Her to front legs occupy the space towards the front of the scene. The light highlights her wicked sharp talons. The right one is coated in sticky blue blood.
