Empty bar seating. It was a bit early or maybe they opened a door and slipped away? East Nashville, TN USA. A local bar used reclaimed antique doors to build its bar front. Cut to height, but the doors are left in their distressed and chipping paint in earth tones of sage, mustard, and tan. Ornate rusted doorknobs remain set at equal height for each door. The barstools are modern, minimalist, backless, square-topped stamped metal. Painted yellow, each seat is artistically decorated as if dripping with fresh paint spilled over the seat and running down each leg. The drips are accented with heavy black outlines. Left to right the colors alternate blue, red, green, blue, and black. The floor is dark brown made of exterior composite deck boards running the length of the bar. ###

Title: A Fluid Past The polished stone floor distorts and inverts the nighttime scene in subdued interior lighting of a restaurant entry decorated in antique carpentry of reclaimed doors. The lighter frame at left-center is an antique kitchen cabinet. Befitting a large country kitchen, it is plain and unremarkable. The grey frame at the right is a large, ornate French door hangs in two sets of three panel sections. Intended to serve a house as grand as itself, it paints a nostalgic splendor that did grace homes of more successful southern planters.
