Springtime at the gates of the Snow Queen's Ice Palace is peaceful and serene both then and now less all manner of weapons unleashed with a crack and loud rush of falls from its crystal battlement. The aftermath of a new normal winter season is a scene of a wood fire offset left of bottom-center. In the foreground, an axe blade is buried in an unseen log at bottom right. The wooden axe handle strikes slight curve upward across three-fourths of the horizon at approx. 30 degrees from lower right towards left center. The end of the handle sits skightly above center horizon. A pyramid of charred firewood sits framed just beyond the axe handle. The handles end points to a triangular pair of wood chunks. They are charred black and frosted at the edges with ash. Small orange flames peek from the top point of the triangle. The background finds large cut logs of Silver Maple and Osage Orange strewn at the base of a rusted wire fence with rotting 4x4 inch posts barely standing. Green grass and new leaves on honeysuckle, privet, and other regional flora fill the gaps. ###

A dark blue Porsche 718 GT4 survived high speeds on the race track only to be destroyed by a rear-end collision while sitting at a stoplight. The view displays the rear left quarter panel and hatch sliced and crushed above the rear bumper. The undamaged driver's side rear tire and wheel are partially visible left-center. The upper left view finds the driver door and window glass intact. The far upper right corner frames the shattered glass of the rear hatch. The remaining view holds a mass of folded metal (both painted and unpainted), exposed wiring harnesses, and the exposed rear frame and bumper attachment. The formerly horizontal base that held driver-side support of the rear wing, now vertical and facing to the rear, appears more like a door handle. ###

The walls, floors, and ceilings are unpainted prefabricated concrete panels. Offset to the right of center in the view, the upper half of the nearest portal frames an adjacent wall in the background. The edge joints of four wall panels outline a step up (about one fourth of the height) from shorter panels on the left to taller panels at the right. The panels at left display four same-sized, vertically oriented rectangles. The two at top frame the overhead lighting of the next parking level up. The bottom left rectangle is black and unlit. Ice-encased samaras (helicopter seeds) and twigs attached to a fallen branch from a Japanese Maple tree. Two clusters are in focus with samaras at each center. Dark twigs line the centers of frozen lines of ice. The background is a bokeh smear of blue, white and olive drab greenery. The view is somewhat like pieces of carved leaded crystal joined into a cut glass window. The left-hand cluster forms a star-shaped blossom with feathery tan plumes lighting up the center. The right-hand cluster appears somewhat as a stubby hat-like lamp shade with its plumes dangling lazily to the left of center beneath the hat. Each crystal surface reflects every dark line and reflection from each surrounding surface suggesting deeply etched patterns in the exterior surfaces of the ice layers.
