The image shows the "Spectral Eye" mosaic located along the Wisdom Trail at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors (CoSM) in Wappingers Falls, New York. The mosaic was created by artist Cory Glory in collaboration with Alex Grey and others. It is a colorful, circular design made from small ceramic and glass tiles. The artwork is part of the outdoor art installations on the CoSM grounds that visitors can explore. The design emphasizes a vibrant, concentric pattern that forms the shape of an eye.

A sculpture made entirely of mountain laurel branches. It is titled Minerva by artist Amy Senn, located on the Wisdom Trail at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors (CoSM) in Wappingers Falls, New York.

La Carmencita (Carmen Dauset Moreno) Ca. 1890 Oil on canvas, Musée d'Orsay, Paris (RF 746) Sargent first met Spanish flamenco dancer Carmen Dauset Moreno (1868-1910) when she appeared at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1889. Given Sargent's long-standing interest in performance, especially Spanish dance, he was captivated, and described her as a "bewildering superb creature." He captured her formidable attitude in a fantastic yellow costume and confident pose. When the audacious portrait was shown in Paris in 1892, it reminded viewers of Sargent's earlier Paris work. La Carmencita was purchased by the French state for the Musée du Luxembourg, the museum of contemporary art, that same year. Its acquisition effectively proclaimed Sargent, at the still-young age of thirty-six, one of the masters of his time, and marked his ultimate acceptance in Paris.

Full frame photo of Monet’s 1873 painting, “The Poppy Field near Argenteuil.” The painting is of a grassy hill dotted with wild orange poppies. At the foot of the hill, a woman with parasol and small boy walk through the tall grass and poppies. Their faces are featureless; they are truly “impressions” of people. Along the crest of the hill is a row of trees, a French country manor just visible among them. Above is a blue sky with fluffy clouds.

Three women in sun hats sit at the foot of a hill, in the midst of tall grasses and wild orange poppies. The scene is in Giverny, France, near Monet’s famous garden, and is reminiscent of his painting, “The Poppy Field near Argenteuil,” which I describe in ALT text in the other picture on this post.

One day I took a pic of this Monet painting at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, and the next day I visited Monet’s village of Giverny and spied these women sitting in a field of poppies. Serendipity!
