This was part of the #FutureNewsFund, one of the recommendations of the #CairncrossReview, and it’s particularly interesting as it combines multiple datasets that I haven’t seen used in this way before.
This is why a permanent IPIN (see #CairncrossReview), or something similar to it (cf @TheCrick @AdaLovelaceInst @turinginst, but for public interest news/info), that has the longevity, independence and clout to act as a centre of gravity for the field, was a timely idea.

I think one of the biggest impacts of the #CairncrossReview is that it has rallied lots of people - with diverse interests, angles and motivations - around the idea of #PublicInterestJournalism. Of course it's long been there as a concept, but now it's nearer the mainstream.
I forgot to highlight this key signal from Para 52 (my emphasis):
"Parts of the sector have shown a **desire to help share approaches and best practice**. It remains open for the sector to support the existing initiatives or form others as they see fit."
