The #ScottishTerrier body is a brick. But this #caninefoster is carrying about 10 extra pounds. Feeding is only part of the problem - much of this weight is stress related. We play a lot of fetch but with her new harness will come walks.

She is a #ScottishTerrier in a pink Collar-of-Belonging. She asks to go out, loves to play fetch, & wants to be with humans that love her. She is a #caninefoster with a past that makes her wary of the new things. She requires protection.

Her fourth Monday with us. She allowed a martingale to be slipped on. Walking in the yard, she remembers that she is a #ScottishTerrier & that people can be kind. We de-escalate resource guarding & reward play.
Brick by brick the wall crumbles.

Day 20
She touched grass today -for the 1st time in ??- she touched green.
In the yard she actually looks like a #ScottishTerrier rather than a pathetic fruit bat. We did the steps & sniffed & listened & walked around. Totally tired now. Big day! #caninefoster

Day -like- 14
Two Tuesdays ago a ragged mat of a #ScottishTerrier was brought into #caninefoster labeled as a #biter She was in persistent horrific pain from urine scalding. Healed now, it's taken 14 days to learn: she can pee without pain.
Day by day it's better.
