On a folkloristically painted tray sits a monumental dessert made of choux pastry, overloaded with dollops of cream, powdered sugar, cinnamon dust, and a lonely cocktail cherry – the sweet interpretation of the existential staple food. What was once considered modest daily bread has transformed here into a baroque calorie bomb that ironically reduces any notion of necessity to absurdity.
